Correction possible of higher cylinders and myopia values
DRL has almost no limitations:
- Myopia: until -5.00 and in some cases until -8.00.
- Astigmatism: up to -3.50.
- Post refractive surgery.
- Possible use in keratoconus, corneal ectasia and also during the day in case of refractive error.
The Double Reservoir Lens (DRL) is a welcome addition to the existing Ortho-K overnight lens by the double reservoir principle. This system has a simplified adjustment technique, making the result logical and predictable for measuring the contact lens. The DRL lens is a patented design which the centering improves and ensures that there is more fluorescein pattern control on the end result.

By measuring the corneal parameters (central radius and eccentricity), we can decide which of the 24 DX lenses is closest to the sagittal height plus 8 microns of thickness added to the apex. All lenses are calculated for a normal cornea with an average eccentricity of 0.48. In the absence of a program for the topographer, the first lens shall be determined by the mean central K-value.
Tips for fitting
The lens should be well centered. There should be no asymmetry in the tear layer.
The central area should cover the pupil well, with a light green tint, which is a sign of a nice thin tear layer.
No air bubbles located in the central area.
The first touch ring is located at the end of the first reservoir.
The second reservoir is lighter than the first and the line is barely visible.
The second touch ring must be equal in width and depth to the first one.
The edge lift must be uniform on all sides. Compare the opposite areas along the same axis.
